A painting could tell us a story, make us feel, inspire us or just be nice to look at. But it does that with one fundamental ingredient and it’s not the mastery of brushstrokes, the composition or the choice of colors, it’s the emotion that makes a painting come to life and allows it to become something more than the sum of its parts. I call this quality Oiled.
